Antonija (Tanja) Mitrovic is a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. She is the leader of the Intelligent Computer Tutoring Group. Dr Mitrovic received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nis, Yugoslavia, in 1994. She is an associate editor of the International Journal on Artificial Intelligence in Education, and Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning. She has published more than 250 journal and conference papers, and was awarded the Distinguished Researcher Award in 2011 by the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education. Professor Mitrovic was the President of the International Society for Artificial Intelligence in Education from 2013 to 2015, and is President of the Asia Pacific Society for Computers in Education. Her primary research interests are in AI in education and learning analytics.
